13Jeremiah 2:13“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That can hold no water.
18Jeremiah 2:18“But now what are you doing on the road to Egypt, To drink the waters of the Nile? Or what are you doing on the road to Assyria, To drink the waters of the Euphrates?19Jeremiah 2:19“Your own wickedness will correct you, And your apostasies will reprove you; Know therefore and see that it is evil and bitter For you to forsake the LORD your God, And the dread of Me is not in you,” declares the Lord GOD of hosts.
4James 4:4You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Resist the devil and he will flee from you.8James 4:8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.9James 4:9Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom.10James 4:10Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
