Getting started

Read Scripture aloud

Use your browser’s built-in voices to listen while you follow the text.

Steps

  1. Use the speaker button on a Bible passage, search result, or saved passage to begin reading aloud.
  2. The current verse is highlighted as it is read, and the page gently scrolls forward as the active verse advances so you can follow along visually.
  3. Press the same button again to pause, then press it again to resume from the paused spot.
  4. Use the Voice menu when your browser exposes more than one installed voice. Available voices depend on the device and browser.
  5. When reading a full chapter, keep Autoplay checked to continue into the next chapter automatically after the current chapter finishes.
  6. Turn Autoplay off any time if you only want the current chapter to be read. Awesome Bible remembers that preference in this browser.
  7. On macOS, higher-quality voices may need to be downloaded first in System Settings before Safari or Chrome can offer them here.
  8. Awesome Bible skips verse numbers, visible references, and reader controls so the spoken audio stays focused on Scripture text.
